I grew up on advent calendars. As much as I love December 25th, half the fun is the process leading up to it! In our house this includes some kind of countdown.
We’ve already purchased a couple in our house, so I wanted to highlight a few 2017 advent calendars that you can bring home in case you’re looking for one.
2017 Advent Calendars to Bring You Cheer This Season
My husband *cough* I mean kids, couldn’t wait to get their hands on this one. We grabbed ours at Costco back in October just in case it sold out in stores. Each day of December provides a new holiday themed item or character to assemble. My personal favourite is the Santa Claus. There’s also a Star Wars version!
You’ll love opening the little drawers filled with chocolate surprises throughout December! Included are solid milk chocolate Santa’s and snowman, mini salted caramels, cookie crunch bells, and dark and milk chocolate bells. I’d also recommend grabbing a Chocolate Survival Kit while in store, you know, just in case. Sorry kids, this Bright Lights Advent Calendar from Purdys is all mine!
Nothing says holidays like cozying up in front of the fire with a hot cuppa! Your dark December days will be filled with a different flavor of tea every day – though there is more than enough for a friend, too. There’s even an extra bonus day just for fun! This calendar sells out FAST, so get it while it lasts. P.S – Celebrating Hanukkah? There’s an 8 day version!
4. playmobil Advent Calendar – Santa’s Workshop
The elves are scrambling to assemble Christmas gifts and your kids can help all month long! This set includes Santa’s sleigh, workshop, and several characters and holiday toys. If you’re trying to avoid a chocolate advent, playmobil offers many of these calendars with different themes.
5. My Kindness Calendar –
Worried about your family getting caught up in the getting and forgetting about the giving? Then you’ll want a My Kindness Calendar for your home! Throughout the month of December, you’ll perform activities that will bless those around you. Whether it’s donating toys to a child in need or delivering a meal, My Kindness Calendar will remind you to think of others. As you complete the activities daily, you’ll add another sticker to this reusable calendar. This set also comes with some blank stickers to make up your own ideas!
These are just a few of the available advent calendars for Canadians this year. Which kind do you plan to pick up?
